Juju the Squirrel and the Lost Red Scarf

Juju the Squirrel and the Lost Red Scarf
Juju is a little squirrel. Today Juju goes on an adventure across the big forest.
Over the log. Hop! Under the bush. Duck! Along the stream. Skip, skip, skip!

By the old tree, Juju finds something soft and red. It is a scarf. A lovely, warm red scarf.
"Ooh," says Juju. "I could keep it. It would be my bed blanket."

But Juju thinks. "Someone is missing this scarf. Someone is cold."
Juju ties the scarf around his tail and goes to look.

Over the log. Hop! "Is this your scarf, Rabbit?"
"No," says Rabbit. "Mine is blue."

Under the bush. Duck! "Is this your scarf, Hedgehog?"
"No," says Hedgehog. "I have spikes to keep me warm."

Along the stream. Skip, skip, skip! There sits little Owl. She is shivering.
"I lost my red scarf," says Owl. "Grandma made it for me."

"I found it!" says Juju. He gives Owl the scarf.
Owl wraps it around her neck. "Oh, thank you, Juju! You could have kept it."
"It is yours," says Juju. "Keeping it would not be right."

Owl gives Juju a big feathery hug. "Will you come to tea?"
So Juju has warm acorn tea with Owl and her grandma.
And Juju's heart feels as warm as a red scarf.
