Pepe the Puppy Washes His Paws
Pepe is a little brown puppy. He loves to dig.
Dig, dig, dig in the garden! Dig, dig, dig in the mud!
His paws are very muddy. Muddy, muddy, muddy.
Then he smells something good. Lunch!
Pepe runs to the table with his muddy paws.
"Stop, Pepe!" says Mother Dog. "Look at your paws."
Pepe looks. His paws are brown and sticky. There are tiny bits of dirt and tiny germs too.
"Germs can make a tummy ache," says Mother Dog. "Let us wash first."
Pepe does not like water. But he wants lunch.
So he goes to the little bowl of water.
Splash, splash, splash! Rub, rub, rub with the soap. Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!
Pepe sings while he washes:
"Wash the front, and wash the back,
Wash between, and that is that!"
Rinse, rinse, rinse. Dry, dry, dry on the soft towel.
Now Pepe's paws are clean and soft.
Pepe sits at the table. Lunch is yummy.
Then his little sister Fifi runs in with muddy paws.
"Stop, Fifi!" says Pepe. "Let us wash first. I know a song!"
Splash, splash, splash! Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!
