Salma and the Thirsty Little Bird

Salma and the Thirsty Little Bird

📝 Summary

A short, fully vowelled story for young children about kindness to animals.

📖 Story

On a hot day, Salma saw a little bird on the window.
The bird was opening its beak and saying: tweet, tweet!
Salma said, "Poor thing, you're thirsty!"
Salma brought a small dish and put cool water in it.
Then she moved back a little, so the bird wouldn't be scared.
The bird came down and drank, and drank, and drank.
Then it sang: tweet, tweet! And it flew away happy.
Salma laughed and said, "Come back tomorrow. I'll put out water for you every day."
In the morning, the bird came, and it brought its friend!
Being kind to animals makes the heart happy.
